The company has expressed support to the official obligation of enterprise Globalfoundries in relation to the State of New York to construct factory Fab 2 in technological park Luther Forest Technology Campus (LFTC). It is expected that on end of this project 6400 workplaces directly at the enterprise and in region will be created. The project represents the largest branch investment into state-private sector for all history of the State of New York, its realisation is aimed at creation of the modern enterprise for manufacture of semi-conductor components, told in message AMD.
In 2006 company AMD has decided to create the modern semi-conductor industrial enterprise in northern part of the State of New York, being guided by that this region is an ideal place for manufacture of the advanced semi-conductor products, – has told. According to AMD, Globalfoundries is the joint industrial semi-conductor enterprise created as a result of the agreement, reached on March, 2nd, 2009 between companies AMD and Advanced Technology Investmnt Company (ATIC).
